Big hit ordered from behind bars

A hit has been reportedly ordered on the life of a senior policeman to avenge the police-involved killings of three people last month.

Sources disclosed to Uncutt News Media that officers of the North-Central Division received intelligence that the St. John’s Road St. Augustine gang leader ordered the hit on Inspector Keiron Greene as a reprisal for the police-involved killings of 3 people.

Greene is the Inspector in charge of Anti-Crime Operations within the NCD headed by Snr. Supt. Richard Smith, and would be involved in most, if not all, major police operations/exercises within the division.

Uncutt News Media understands that recently, police arrested a man with a loaded firearm in the St. Augustine district got information on him, which confirmed the intelligence previously gathered about the hit on Greene’s life and who ordered it.

Greene is no stranger to danger. He was a member of the Northern Division Task Force for several years and was involved in multiple shootouts with armed suspects.

Also, this is not the first time he has received death threats but continued with his work over the years.

However, sources said that the seniors within the NCD appear not to be taking the threats seriously.

“One must understand that these are different times we live in, and most of the youths who choose to align themselves with gangs and guns will kill anything once ordered to do such. So it’s not like 10, 15 or 20 years ago. The criminal minds and culture of gangs are different, and they won’t hesitate to put anyone down anywhere and any time,” a source told Uncutt News Media.

Uncutt News Media further understands that the gang leader behind the hit is Gerald Garcia, aka Coco of St. John’s Road in St. Augustine.

The killings that are linked to the death threat are those of Shaquille MeGregor, aka Dust Boss, a man identified as Silence and Jaydell Ottley at an apartment at Lovell Street in Monte Grande in Tunapuna early on Saturday 17th February 2024.

Hours after the fatal shootings, an image of Inspector Greene standing on the roadway outside the apartment began making the rounds on social media with different commentary.

Dust Boss and Silence, Uncutt News Mediau understands, were one of Coco’s main shooters.

Police claimed officers of the North-Central Division’s Gang and Intelligence Unit and the Multi-Operational Police Section (MOPS) boarded the apartment to execute a search warrant in McGregor name for firearms and ammunition.

They said occupants of the house shot at them, and they fired back, killing three of them.

A Colt revolver with 4 spent shells and one live round of ammunition and a black pistol with 4 live rounds of 9mm ammunition and one spent 9mm shell casing were allegedly found and seized at the scene.

There was another occupant of the apartment who immediately went on Instagram Live as gunshots erupted outside his bedroom.

In the short video clip, he is heard telling officers that he is on Instagram Live moments before they open the door to his bedroom.

He was repeatedly asked to put his hands up by the police and later taken from the room screaming and begging for his life before the video was stopped by one of the officers.

When police called upon the man to open the door, he told them he was about to do so.

“I am live on Instagram, I am in my boxers, I coming to open the door, I coming, I have nothing (illegal),” he said.

As the officers entered the room, the man was instructed to put his hands in the air.

“My hands up, my hands up, I have nothing,” he is heard saying in the Instagram video.

At that point, the video goes dark, and he is heard screaming: “Look my hands in the air, look my hands in the air, look I have nothing on me, I have nothing.”

The screaming continues with him ending, “all yuh dey killing meh,” then the video suddenly ends.
