No Tobago Jazz Experience 2024

The Tobago Festivals Commission Limited has confirmed that there won’t be a 2024 edition of the Tobago Jazz Experience.

In a statement, Tobago Festivals said any Jazz-related activities taking place in April 2024 will be announced by the relevant promoters in due course.

The organisation recalled a February 2023 admission from THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine that the continued future of the event would have to heavily involve private promoters as its current model was deemed to be unsustainable.

Tobago Festivals noted that the festival, formerly known as the Plymouth Jazz Festival attracted thousands of visitors over the two decades it was hosted. The event boasted performances from top acts including Grace Jones, Toni Braxton, Kool and the Gang, Lauryn Hill, Busy Signal, John Legend, Celine Dion, Tina Turner, Vaughnette Bigford, Shakira, Janelle Monae, Ne-Yo, Elton John, Sean Paul, Heather Headley, and many more.

The last edition of the Tobago Jazz Experience, hosted from April 20-23 2023 was dubbed ‘The Return’ and saw headliners such as Boyz II Men, Koffee, Richie Spice, Everton Blender, Positive, Jonathan Nelson and Samuel Medas.

The Commission extended the thanks of the Tobago House of Assembly and all associated Divisions to the event’s past patrons for their support which made Tobago Jazz over the years.

The Commission published events carded for April, and has released a calendar of events for the rest of the year. The calendar is inclusive of events and activities hosted by various local promoters and organisers, where the relevant contact information has been given, if further information is required.
